MARRIAGE ASSISTANCE SCHEME

The announcement of 4 gram gold for Thirumangalyam along with financial assistance for marriage by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamilnadu for marriages conducted from 17.05.2011 onwards is a flagship scheme implemented by the Social Welfare Department. This scheme has been extended to 8 grams gold from 23.05.2016 onwards. Under the scheme, Marriage Assistance of Rs.25,000/- and 8 gram gold is given for brides who have studied 10th and 12th and Rs.50,000/- and 8 gram gold for Degree / Diploma holders.

MOOVALUR RAMAMIRTHAM AMMAIYAR NINAIVU MARRIAGE ASSISTANCE SCHEME

This scheme aims to promote the educational status of the poor girls and also to help poor parents in getting their daughters married.

Under general scheme for the financial year 2017-18 an allotment of Rs.6,37,50,000/-(Rupees Six Crores Thirty Seven Lakhs and Fifty thousand only) Financial Assistance and 1550 (8 gram) gold coins have been received for Tirupur District. In this 517 beneficiaries who have studied 10th and 12th for marriages conducted upto 28.02.2017 and 907 degree holders have received benefits for marriages conducted upto 05.12.2016.

Under special scheme an allotment of Rs.2,03,75,000/- (Rupees Two Crores three lakhs and seventy five thousand only) and 648 (8 gram) gold coins has been received for the financial year 2017-18. In this assistance has been given to 426 non graduates for marriages conducted upto 31.07.2017 and 158 graduates for marriages conducted upto 31.08.2017.

In the financial year 2017-18, Rs.50,000 (Rupees Fifty thousand only) and 1 (8 gram) gold coin has been received for Scheduled Tribe degree holder for marriages conducted upto 08.06.2017. This assistance has been given to a Scheduled Tribe degree holder.

E.V.R MANIAMMAIYAR NINAIVU WIDOW DAUGHTER MARRIAGE SCHEME

This scheme aims to help the poor widows for the marriage of their daughter.

Under general scheme for the financial year 2017-18 an allotment of Rs. 25,25,000/-(Rupees Twenty five lakhs and twenty five thousand only) Financial Assistance and 62 (8 gram) gold coins have been received for Tirupur District. In this 22 non-graduates for marriages conducted upto 31.12.2016 and 34 graduates have received benefits for marriages conducted upto 31.12.2016.

Under special scheme an allotment of Rs. 5,25,000/- (Rupees Five lakhs and Twenty five thousand only) and 14 (8 gram) gold coins has been received for the financial year 2017-18. In this assistance has been given to 5 non graduates and 7 graduates for marriages conducted upto 31.08.2017.

ANNAI THERESA NINAIVU ORPHAN GIRL MARRIAGE ASSISTANCE SCHEME

This scheme aims to help orphan girls financially for their marriage.

Under general scheme for the financial year 2017-18 an allotment of Rs.7,75,000/-(Rupees Seven lakhs and Seventy five thousand only) Financial Assistance and 20 (8 gram) gold coins have been received for Tirupur District. In this 9 non-graduates for marriages conducted upto 28.02.2017 and 11 graduates have received benefits for marriages conducted upto 17.02.2017.

Under special scheme an allotment of Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees Fifty thousand only) and 2 (8 gram) gold coins has been received for the financial year 2017-18. In this assistance has been given to 2 non graduates for marriages conducted upto 23.06.2016.

DR. MUTHULAKSHMI REDDY NINAIVU INTERCASTE MARRIAGE ASSISTANCE SCHEME

This scheme aims to abolish caste based discrimination.

Under General scheme, no application has been received for the year 2017-18.

Under special scheme an allotment of Rs. 5,00,000/- (Rupees Five lakhs only) and 11 (8 gram) gold coins has been received for the financial year 2017-18. In this 2 non-graduates and 9 graduates have received benefits for marriages conducted upto 08.03.2017.

DOCTOR DHARMAMBAL AMMAIYAR NINAIVU WIDOW REMARRIAGE SCHEME

This scheme aims to financially assist and motivate widow remarriage.

Under General scheme, no application has been received for the year 2017-18.

CHIEF MINISTER’S GIRL CHILD PROTECTION SCHEME

This scheme aims to :

Promote enrollment and retention of the girl child in school and to ensure her education at least up to High School level.
Encourage girls to get married only after the age of 18 years.
Encourage parents to adopt family planning methods after two children.
Protect the rights of the girl child and provide social and financial empowerment of girl child.
Strengthen the role of the family in improving the status of the girl child.

Scheme-I

An amount of Rs.50,000 is deposited in the name of the girl child born on or after 01.08.2011, in the form of fixed deposit with the Tamil Nadu Power Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited, for a family with one girl child only. The copy of the fixed deposit receipt is given to the family of the girl child.

Scheme-II

An amount of Rs.25,000 is deposited in the names of two girl children born on or after 01.08.2011 in the form of fixed deposits with Tamil Nadu Power Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited, for a family with two girl children only. The copy of the fixed deposit receipts are given to the family of the girl children.

To receive the benefit under this scheme i.e., maturity amount, the girl child should appear for the SSLC Exam conducted by the State Government and should have completed 18 years of age.

In the financial year 2017-18 (till 28.02.2018) 1072 beneficiaries have been benefited. Tiruppur district has received an allotment of Rs.3,72,00,000/- (Rupees Three Crore Seventy Two Lakhs only) of which an expenditure Rs.2,68,00,000/- (Rupees Two Crores Sixty Eight Lakhs Only).

TAMIL NADU THIRD GENDERS WELFARE BOARD

The Government has taken initiatives in interests of the welfare of Third Genders so as to mainstream them in all walks of social life. The Government has implemented various schemes for the educational and financial development of the third genders. Third genders after undergoing medical examination by the medical board are issued identity cards. Further, third genders self help groups are given loan for economic development with 25% subsidy. There also given training on economic generation activities Housing sites pattas and houses have been given through slum clearance board.
