TIRUPPUR LOCAL PLANNING AUTHORITY

The Local Planning Area, for the purpose of development control and implementing of master plan for Tiruppur and its environs was declared by the Government of Tamil Nadu under section 10 (4) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1971 in G.O. Ms.No. 1843 dated 16.08.74 as composite Local Planning Authority comprises of 11 village in PalladamTaluk, two villages in AvinashiTaluk and two villages in Erode Taluk District. (i.e. Tiruppur municipality, 2 Town panchayats and 13 Revenue Panchayats.

Tiruppur Local Planning Authority was constituted by the Government in the G.O.Ms.No.759 H &UD Department dated 01.09.93 with the present composition of chairman and the member-secretary, District collector as chairman and the Regional Deputy Director of Town and Country Planning,Tiruppur region as the Member secretary.The G.O. No. 267 H &UD Department dated 01.11.2002 declared 7 members including one Assembly member consists members of Authority.
